Steel road plates are the standard way to keep a driveway usable while a trench, pit or crossover is open. EZY STEEL makes them in our Sydney workshop and sells them outright, so you're not paying hire every time a job needs one.

Which thickness?

It depends on the heaviest vehicle, the width of the trench and the ground either side. Allow plenty of plate past each edge of the trench so it sits on firm ground. We don't provide load ratings for road plates, so please have your engineer or traffic management plan confirm the plate before use.

Lifting and placing

Road plates must be moved with an excavator, crane or forklift, never by hand. Our road plate with a Lock-N-Lift lifting point makes lifting quicker and safer.
